Position:
Health Services Representative Summary:
The Health Services Representative will work collaboratively with members of the Health Services team. They will provide support to the health office under the guidance of the school nurse to promote the health and safety of NBPS students Responsibilities:
Assists with yearly DPH-Mandated screenings as directed by the school nurse (i.e. sending out notices, assist with the flow of students to and from screenings, perform heights and weights following training with the nurse) Assists with obtaining up-to-date physicals and immunizations. Communicates with school nurse on project related activities at schools. Verifies health information data with school nurses and inputs health data into computerized health record program. Assists with filing paperwork into the hard copy of the school health record Prepares incoming and outgoing health records and maintains log. Assists with inventory management and supply ordering for the health office. Aids with escorting students as directed by school nurse or nursing supervisor Communicates with parents/guardians as requested by school nurse Performs other tasks as assigned by school nurse/nursing supervisor/Manager of Health Services Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience working in the medical field preferred. Current certification in CPR. Respects and protects the confidentiality of students, staff, and families. Must be knowledgeable on HIPAA regulations and other protective health information statutes. Must be self-motivated and flexible with an ability to set priorities and work with limited supervision. Demonstrates clerical proficiency and strong computer skills. Willing to accept and utilize nursing supervision. Detail oriented, and capable of handling and prioritizing multiple tasks effectively. Must be organized and demonstrate strong skills in both written and verbal communications. Culturally proficient in speaking, writing and engaging a diverse, multi-lingual population. Excellent communication, insight and problem solving skills. Terms of Employment:
