We are currently recruiting for Dock Safety Coordinator for our Palmetto, GA site. In this role, you will be responsible for reinforcing safety standards, quality input, and output on new projects and processes. Completing all assigned safety tasks is also part of your responsibilities.
About the Role
How you will contribute
- Observe drivers unloading and loading trucks to ensure safe practices are followed. Maintain communication with delivery drivers to ensure timely unloading, loading, and delivery of goods.
- Report safety hazards and unsafe practices to health and safety team leadership.
- Maintain open communication with the inbound and outbound operations team, resolving issues to streamline deliveries via radio and PINC.
- Keep records of preventive maintenance of dock equipment.
- Walk the yard to identify unsafe practices and hazards, reporting issues to safety and senior leadership.
- Engage and disengage gladhand locks on trailers.
- Remove and dispose of seals on trailers properly.
- Engage and disengage dock lock controls.
- Enter data in PINC regarding dock lock engagements.
- Lift, push, or pull dock plates and doors.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
