STUDENT WORKER JOB DESCRIPTION

I. Position Information

Title: Student Worker, Event Staff/Van Driver

Division: Athletics

Non-Exempt

Part time

II. Position Summary

We are looking for students to work in the athletics department as an Event Staff and Van Driver under the supervision of the Event Manager. The position will assist in the transportation of CUH intercollegiate athletic teams to and from the airport for their road games. Applicants must be willing to work both events and van driving. Hours of transportation vary, ranging from weekdays to weekends, mornings, afternoons and evenings.

IV. Reports to:

Direct Report to: Athletics Event Manager

V. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

On the day of a home game, the event staff will help the event manager with the setup and take down required for the individual sport. The event staff will also work in-game operations of every home game for each of the following intercollegiate teams, sponsored by the NCAA, at Chaminade University.

VII. Education and Experience

Minimum

Must be a currently enrolled student at Chaminade University.

Preferred

Student should maintain a current GPA of at least 2.5.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Organized with meticulous attention to detail. Ability to prioritize work and resources. Ability to meet deadlines. Attention to detail with a focus on thoroughness and quality. High integrity and ethical standards IX. Physical Requirements

Duties involve light work in an office and community setting and requires a minimum of physical effort with intermittent sitting, standing, climbing stairs, and walking inclines. Must be able to lift 20 pounds, walk the campus with ease, and have excellent motor skills. Must have finger dexterity. Must be able to communicate information and ideas so that others will understand.

X. Other Requirements:

Must have a valid Drivers License This is a Part-time Non-Exempt Student Worker position. Depending on the project cycles and workflow demands of the department, additional hours or workday schedule changes may be occasionally required. Must be willing and able to work occasional nights and weekends and a varying schedule. Performs such similar, comparable or related duties as may be assigned or required Observes all safety and health regulations and works in accordance with safe work procedures and policies of the University.
