Overview

Oversee and direct the Due Diligence process for all product lines, assessing potential business portfolios for asset portability. Exhibit and uphold a thorough understanding of products, processes, and capabilities relevant to broker dealers and Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs). Stay updated on industry competitive intelligence, including benchmarking and analysis. Facilitate discussions with candidates to finalize due diligence, develop Cost-Benefit Analyses (CBAs), and formulate financial proposals. Articulate the Thrivent Value Proposition and assist candidates in comprehending our capabilities and processes. Serve as a connector among business leaders to collect insights and share best practices. Manage relationships within the sales organization and advocate for candidates to senior leadership. Examine intricate issues related to advisor business portfolios using data from diverse sources. Deliver analysis findings and recommendations to senior leaders to secure financial offers. Create valuation models and financial proposals for external practice acquisitions. Oversee the EAR and Practice Acquisition pipelines, ensuring accurate candidate records are maintained. Communicate the status of advisor recruiting and address complex challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and direct the Due Diligence process for all product lines, assessing potential business portfolios for asset portability.
  • Exhibit and uphold a thorough understanding of product, processes, and capabilities relevant to broker dealers and RIAs.
  • Stay updated on industry competitive intelligence, including benchmarking and analysis.
  • Provide strategic assessment of the experienced Advisors’ book and help craft the most efficient path forward for moving from the Advisor’s predecessor firm to TIMI.
  • Remain apprised of current industry trends and research on broker protocol and related topics in advisor movement across financial services firms.
  • Work closely with due diligence analysts to inform offering strategy for broker-dealer and investment advisory products based on FA and client experience.
  • Maintain understanding of recruiting trends and offerings within and across industry channels.
  • Understand the needs of FAs and their clients to assist in determining appropriate investment product solution strategies.
  • Collaborate with Thrivent departments to bring expertise and solutions to FAs.
  • Be well-versed in the financial pro forma P&L associated with the Advisor’s transition and related financial incentive programs (e.g., forgivable loans, bonuses, transition programs).
  • Develop enhanced relationships with incoming experienced FAs to coach and mentor for productivity and business efficiency.
  • Advocate for the needs of FAs with appropriate parties.
  • Model Thrivent’s leadership competencies and support a culture of continuous improvement and client commitment.
  • Describe interacting audiences and influence level with Legal/Compliance, Due Diligence Analysts, and FAs (field leadership) as applicable.

Qualifications & Skills

Required:

  • College degree required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of successful industry experience.
  • FINRA SIE, Series 7 and 63/65 or 66 required or obtained within 90 days of hire/transfer.
  • Demonstrated in-depth knowledge related to experienced Advisor recruiting.
  • Demonstrated and in-depth knowledge of advanced sales solutions.
  • Understanding of different distribution channels.
  • Expert knowledge of financial markets and the investment industry.
  • Expert knowledge of programs and services available to FAs through brokerage and provider platforms.
  • Strong statistical and analytical skills.
  • Ability to transfer knowledge to motivate FAs to take action.
  • Demonstrated analytical ability and human relations skills.
  • Ability to anticipate needs and act quickly with ownership of decisions.
  • Ability to work across the organization and influence others.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation development and delivery.

Preferred:

  • MBA.
  • Financial services advanced designation (e.g., ChFC, CFP, CAIA).

Pay Transparency

Thrivent’s long-term growth depends on attracting, rewarding, and retaining people who are committed to helping others thrive with purpose. The applicable salary range for this full-time role is $118,105.00 - $159,788.00 per year, which factors in geographic regions. The base pay offered will be determined by factors including location, experience, skills, business needs, and market demand. Benefits may include bonuses, medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA/FSA, 401k, pension, life and disability insurance, Paid Time Off, holidays, Volunteer Time Off, parental leave, EAP, well-being benefits, and other employee benefits.
