Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Telemetry position with night shifts and cardiovascular monitoring responsibilities.
Responsibilities Work in a 54-bed main Cardiac Telemetry unit within a hospital Patient population includes heart failure, heart attacks (STEMI and NSTEMI), strokes requiring cardiac monitoring, arrhythmias, chest pain, and occasional medical overflow Most patients are on cardiac monitors with remote and unit-based telemetry monitoring Handles cardiac drips and urgent cardiac cases Required to work 3x12 hour night shifts (19:00-07:30) Every other weekend required and must work 2 out of 3 designated holidays Floating may be required within the hospital or to affiliated hospitals depending on census Charting is performed using Cerner Powerchart Must be able to handle increased patient ratios up to 1:7 as needed Self-paced pre-start training modules (up to 8 hours) required within one week of signing the contract Scrub color requirement is Caribbean Blue Professional conduct is strictly enforced; conduct issues may result in immediate contract termination Time off requests must not exceed 10 days, and holiday RTO may require working at least 1 holiday No local candidates accepted (must live at least 50 miles from the facility)
Requirements Active RN license required and must be from a state at least 50 miles away from the facility Minimum of 1 year recent experience in telemetry or cardiac nursing required Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS (pending certifications accepted if obtained before start) Cerner experience required First-time travelers accepted Must have been separated from previous employment at the facility for at least 3 years to be eligible
