Manufacturing Technician
Location: West Columbia, SC

Shift & Hours: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM - Fri, Sat Sun & Mon

Pay: $18-$19/hr on contract to hire

Rotate across four main production areas, providing support where needed to keep operations running smoothly. Assist with assembly tasks and basic troubleshooting. Responsible for carrying out a variety of functions within manufacturing operations while supporting engineers, production teams, and process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers with set-up and calibration tasks.
• Support engineers in conducting experiments.
• Perform rework and quality testing on parts, components, subassemblies, and final assemblies.
• Use programs and tools to collect and evaluate operating data, conducting on-line adjustments to products, instruments, or equipment.
• Determine and support the development of methods and procedures to control or improve manufacturing processes.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Strong math skills (basic arithmetic, ratios, percentages, graph interpretation).
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Effective communication skills for presenting information in one-on-one and small group settings.
• Problem-solving skills ranging from standardized situations to complex variables, depending on level.
• Technical competency, with advanced skills and process knowledge at higher grades.
