This position works under general supervision, coordinates, oversees and monitors activities within a specific factory function in Assembly. This person will report to a Section Manger.

As a

Team Lead

you can expect to provide knowledge of all assembly/logistics procedures, standard work schedules, quality requirements and build requirements in assigned work area. Follows and utilizes CPS principles of 5S, Continuous Improvement Idea Reporting, Waste Elimination, and Standard Work. As a contributing team member, you will train new and develop existing employees and serve as a liaison between team members and section managers. As a Team Lead you will serve as a first point of contact for questions related to employee job functions. Performance of administrative functions and may be accountable for daily team PQVC metric boards. As a team member you may be asked to provide input on schedule/build adjustments, as well as communicate with cross-functional leaders to communicate potential build schedule, inventory or manpower issues and solutions to section managers.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Tracking hour by hour boards

Coordinate with logistics

Interface with customer and coordinate voice of customer to team to improve processes

Lead meetings with multifunctional team to track performance and drive results

Regularly lead problem-solving events to drive continuous improvement

Accountable for tracking quality metrics and meeting Safety, Quality, Velocity and Cost goals

Lead root cause corrective action (RCCA) investigations on reported defects

Occasionally utilizing reach trucks, sit-down forklifts and overhead cranes

Work independently with minimal supervision

Demonstrating safety excellence and enforcing safety policies and procedures

Continuously managing training matrix to ensure team flexibility

Physical Requirements:

Ability to sit/stand for prolonged periods

Ability to perform repetitive operations

Ability to lift up to 35 lbs

Ability to climb ladders

Basic Qualifications

At least 6 months of machine assembly experience

Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Top Candidates will also have

Previous team lead experience

Mach 1 and SAP experience

Machine equipment product knowledge

Strong quality and attendance record

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Meticulous and analytical nature

Ability to multitask and prioritize work

Strong commitment to Safety

Knowledge of Caterpillar systems

Additional Information

Shift: 1st Shift

Hours: M-Th 6 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Friday Overtime as business needs require

Summary Pay Range:

$22.90 - $28.65
