Baer is looking for SAP BW Architect for a 12+ month Federal remote project.

Description: Lead system and upgrade scope assessments, readiness checks, and risk identification. Evaluate EA2's integrated ecosystem, with PV1 HANA supporting tools like BusinessObjects, Data Services, SAS Viya, Qlik, CDSW, Analysis for Office, MS Access, and ODBC connections. Assess inbound and outbound interfaces for impact analysis. Collaborate on planning for S/4HANA cutover (Feb 2026) and ensure smooth transition of in-flight BW/4HANA conversions. Partner with Sustainment teams to design processes for handling ongoing development during the conversion period. Collaborate with Basis, DMIS, and Security teams to: Install required software on the remote target system, Configure DMIS for object and data conversion, Establish all required system connectivity and Migrate users and roles Lead remote conversion using BW/4HANA Conversion Cockpit and Transfer Toolbox. Define the scope for conversion, excluding obsolete legacy BW objects. Troubleshoot and remediate issues migrating classic BW objects to HANA-optimized counterparts. Ensure compatibility of custom code and routines post-migration. Strong BW modeling and ABAP development to remediate code and transformation routines. Expertise in: SAP BW process chains, SAP and non-SAP source system extraction (ECC, SRM, IBP, Blue Yonder, flat files), Migrating and optimizing HANA Calculation Views, Modifying BusinessObjects and Data Services for the remote system and Analysis for Office and OpenHub file interfaces Requirements:
10+ years of experience with SAP BW, including legacy and BW/4HANA systems Proven experience leading BW/4HANA remote conversion projects Deep knowledge of: S/4HANA and ODP data sources, Legacy BW objects (InfoCubes, MultiProviders) and HANA-optimized modeling (ADSO, CompositeProviders) Expert-level ABAP skills, particularly with routines and custom transformations Strong coordination skills to lead cross-functional remote teams Experience supporting enterprise-level data environments with multiple BI/reporting tools Prior experience with hybrid SAP ecosystems Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project delivery tools
