ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Legacy Traditional Schools is seeking a Custodian responsible for cleaning and maintaining building facilities across school environments, including classrooms, break rooms, conference rooms, teacher work rooms, library/media rooms, gymnasiums, lunchrooms, nurses’ rooms, stages and lobby/reception areas. Duties include daily room set-ups for meetings and events (including cafeteria), cleaning floors and surfaces, sanitizing bathrooms, and maintaining cleanliness of entryways, hallways, and fixtures. The role also involves operating cleaning equipment, assisting with routine maintenance tasks, supporting building security (locking/unlocking doors and gates), notifying appropriate managers about supplies or major repairs, and adapting hours/duties during the summer school schedule. Knowledge of HAZMAT regulations and Safety Data Sheets is required. Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and maintains building facilities (classrooms, break rooms, conference rooms, teacher work rooms, library/media rooms, gymnasiums, lunchrooms, nurses’ rooms, stages and lobby/reception areas).
• Performs room set-ups for scheduled meetings and events (including daily cafeteria set-up).
• Sweeps, mops, scrubs, and vacuums floors; cleans and polishes walls, ceilings, windows, and fixtures; dusts furniture and equipment.
• Cleans entryways, hallways, door mats, and door glass daily; gathers and empties trash; cleans and sanitizes bathrooms.
• Operates and maintains cleaning equipment; applies wax or sealers to floors as directed.
• Assists in building security (locking/unlocking doors and gates) and routine maintenance tasks (light bulbs, filters).
• Notifies Campus Facility Manager or Custodial Supervisor of supply needs, major repairs, or system improvements.
• Ability to operate various tools and equipment and to understand safety requirements (HAZMAT/SDS).
• Ability to flex hours and duties during the summer school schedule as needed.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Education, Licensure, or Certification

• Minimum Education: High school diploma or G.E.D.

Work Experience or Related Experience

• Minimum Years of Experience: Two or more years in custodial cleaning
• Preferred Years of Experience: Five or more years in custodial cleaning in a school setting

Specialized Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Minimum Skills and Knowledge: Basic knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment and products.
• Preferred Skills and Knowledge: Expert knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment and products; willingness to learn

Work Environment and Physical Demands

• Work indoors and outdoors while cleaning and repairing equipment, furniture, and buildings.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs; stand or walk for extended periods (up to 4 hours).

Background Checks

• Criminal history background check required.

Arizona Employees

• Arizona Department of Public Safety Level One IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card; must obtain and hold valid IVP Level One Card at all times.

Nevada Employees
