Rush City Schools is seeking a dedicated and reliable Full-Time Maintenance Custodian to join our team. This is a vital role that supports the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of our district's facilities.

Typical Hours: Monday- Friday, 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM (Hours may vary based on district needs, including night events and scheduled weekend activities, as assigned by the supervisor)

Hourly Rate: $18.84 - $26.29 (based on qualifications and experience)

Benefits: Details are provided in the attached Labor Agreement

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Perform daily custodial duties at the high school as assigned by Supervisor
  • Provide support to all district buildings & grounds as needed
  • Handle district mail delivery and meeting room setups
  • Maintain and complete minor repairs on HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems
  • Complete minor building repairs
  • Order and manage custodial supply inventory
  • Support groundskeeping tasks such as snow removal, lawn mowing & similar tasks
  • Help secure the building and maintain the fire alarm system
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, data privacy, and safety across all facilities
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience preferred in a direct or related field of work.
  • Valid Minnesota Driver's License
  • Ability to operate custodial and groundskeeping equipment
  • Class 2 Boilers License (or willingness to obtain within 1 year of hire)
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet constant deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative and work well under pressure.
  • Effective communication, both in writing and verbally.
  • Strong interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisors, students and the school wide community.
  • Friendly, self-motivated, and team-oriented attitude
