The teacher benefits include contributions to health, dental, and life insurance plans, with the district covering a portion of premiums. The Behavioral Interventionist reports directly to the Building Principal
East Grand Forks, MN is a city with a population of approximately 9,000 and located in the heart of the Red River Valley in Northwest Minnesota. It borders Grand Forks, ND and is very close to the University of North Dakota and Northland Community and Technical College. The district's K-12 enrollment is approximately 1950 students as well as a thriving preschool program. The district has four separate school buildings housing grades PreK-2, 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12. The district also boasts a thriving Preschool Program and lifelong learning opportunities through Community Education.

Position Summary:
East Grand Forks Public Schools is seeking a Behavioral Interventionist to provide Tier 2 behavioral supports that promote positive student outcomes and reduce exclusionary discipline practices. The Behavioral Interventionist will work directly with students, staff, and families to improve student behavior, attendance, and engagement, while supporting the overall learning environment.
Essential Duties and
Key Responsibilities: Build positive relationships with students to encourage appropriate behavior and engagement in learning. Deliver schoolwide behavior lessons and small group interventions Provide social-emotional skill instruction and behavioral interventions at the Tier 2 level. Deliver crisis intervention and de-escalation support as needed. Support students assigned to in-school suspension (ISS) or alternative settings with non-exclusionary discipline interventions and academic re-entry plans. Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and student assistance teams regarding behavior interventions and strategies. Serve as a liaison with parents/guardians to strengthen home-school communication and support student success. Monitor student progress, maintain documentation, and report outcomes to leadership teams. Connect students to Tier 3 or community-based supports when appropriate. Promote consistent use of restorative practices, PBIS, and district MTSS frameworks. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Required Bachelor's degree in education, psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field. ?Experience working with children or adolescents in educational or therapeutic settings. Preferred Master's degree or advanced coursework in behavior intervention, counseling, or related area. Training in PBIS, restorative practices, CPI, Responsive Classroom, or other behavior management frameworks. Previous experience in a school setting providing behavioral support services. Demonstrated skills in conflict resolution, crisis intervention, and student relationship building. Ability to collaborate effectively with staff, students, and families from diverse backgrounds.
