Overview
Roanoke-Chowan Community College is looking for an adjunct instructor to teach Welding on-site. Adjunct faculty are responsible for providing high-quality, effective instruction in assigned courses, in-person, on a temporary, part-time basis. Employment as an adjunct faculty member is not guaranteed and is based on institutional needs. Only applicants who meet the required qualifications and credentials will be considered.
Responsibilities
- Teach Welding courses within the Welding program in-person (day, evening, or weekends).
- Foster a safe and orderly learning environment; grade assignments and input/maintain grades in the Moodle gradebook; provide relevant feedback; return student work promptly; counsel students on grades and progress.
- Guide, manage, and effectively facilitate the class; develop classroom materials that align with course goals; design the course curriculum and schedule; use assessment techniques to enhance learning and teaching.
- Maintain accurate attendance and academic records, including syllabi; submit all required forms on time; ensure consistent communication with the direct supervisor and with students.
- Complete any mandatory or necessary training as assigned.
- Be a subject matter expert (cutting, basic welding techniques, pipe and plate methods), a self-starter, and a team player willing to take on additional duties as assigned; participate in ongoing professional development and campus activities as required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Diploma in welding.
