3x12 hrs

Shift:

12 hours, nights

Emergency Room RN – KRMC (Kearney, NE)

Unit Overview Beds:

2 triage beds

5 treatment beds

1 trauma bay (Not trauma-designated, but equipped to Level III standards)

Patient Volume: ~20 patients/day (higher during flu season)

Common Diagnoses:

Cardiac cases

Low volume pediatrics (must be comfortable)

High frequency of repeat/frequent flyers – compassion is a must

Special Features:

Telestroke Program in partnership with UNMC

Helipad on-site

Neuro/TBI: Not accepted (no 24/7 neuro support)

Schedule & Orientation Shift: 12-hour shifts – 6a–6p / 6p–6a

Self-Scheduling: Allowed – block scheduling supported

Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd weekend (possibly every other)

Holiday Rotation: Required

Orientation: 1–2 shifts with a preceptor

Floating: No; may hold Med-Surg boarders but does not float to other units

Required Experience & Certifications Experience: Strong, well-rounded ED RN experience required

Certifications:

BLS

ACLS

PALS

NIHSS

Charge RN: On site; traveler not expected to fill charge role (though open to it if experienced)

️ Technology & Systems EMR: MediTech

Monitors: GE (hardwired, visible in-room and at nurse station)

Lab Draws: Nurses and Lab both draw labs

IV Skills: Must be strong – no dedicated IV team

RT: 24/7

Pharmacy: On call after 9 PM (24/7 coming soon)

Team & Support ED Physician Coverage: 24/7

Mid-Levels: Not specified

Nurse Aides: One on per shift (day and night)

Security: On-site 24/7 (located at ER registration)
