Why Lakeshore – A Place to Grow, Contribute, and Connect

At Lakeshore Sport & Fitness, we’re proud to be Chicago’s #1 destination for sport, fitness, and fun—but what truly sets us apart is our people. From our youngest members in childcare to our most competitive athletes, this is a community built on energy, excellence, and connection.

We lead with our values: Professionalism, Quality, Team, Ownership, and Celebration—and we live them daily. Whether it’s launching a new kids camp, stepping in to assist a family at the front desk, or cheering on a child at their first game, we show up with care and high standards. Our facilities are impressive, but it’s our team culture and commitment to a seamless member experience that make this a truly special place to work and grow.

Your Playbook – Part-Time Sports Programmer

As a Part-Time Sports Programmer, you’ll help bring our kids’ sports and activity programs to life. You’ll oversee a variety of fall leagues and classes—including basketball, soccer, dance, and gymnastics—making sure each program is fun, well-organized, and safe.

You’ll work with coaches and instructors, help coordinate schedules, manage registrations, and be a friendly, visible presence for families. This is a hands-on role for someone who loves working with kids, thrives on variety, and can jump into different activities as needed.

Time Commitment: 1–3 hours per week, flexible on days.

Your Role on the Team

  • Lead engaging and skill-appropriate coaching sessions in soccer, basketball, dance, and gymnastics for children and/or youth, fostering both physical development and teamwork.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the needs and abilities of participants, ensuring progression in each discipline while maintaining a fun, inclusive environment.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants by maintaining a high standard of supervision, enforcing safety protocols, and properly setting up and storing equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and participants, providing feedback and updates on progress, schedules, and upcoming events or performances.
  • Demonstrate leadership, enthusiasm, and professionalism while serving as a positive role model, encouraging sportsmanship, discipline, and confidence across all coached activities.

What You Bring – Your Strengths

  • A passion for working with kids and creating fun, engaging experiences.
  • Knowledge of multiple youth sports or recreational activities.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Flexibility and willingness to assist across different sports and program types.
  • A team-first attitude and a focus on delivering excellent service.
