Function/Duties of Position
As a member of the OHSU Department of Orthopaedics and Adventist Health Portland Orthopedics, you will report to the OHSU Department Chair of Orthopaedics and will be responsible for the following duties:
- Clinical: Develop your clinical and operative schedule with the Department Chair. Responsibilities include inpatient, outpatient, and surgical services for sports medicine orthopedic surgeries at OHSU and Adventist Health Portland.
- Call: Participate in on-call duties at Adventist Health Portland hospital, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as assigned, alongside other orthopedic providers.
- Sports Medicine Team: Collaborate with the Sports Medicine team to support athletic Team Physician contracts with local schools, colleges/universities, and professional sports teams.
- Education: Contribute to teaching medical students and residents in clinical settings and through scheduled lectures throughout the year.
- Research: Access resources for research, including support for startup projects and ongoing research, with opportunities to apply for departmental research assistance and non-clinical time through the Director of Research.
Required Qualifications:
- M.D. or equivalent degree/training.
- Completion of an Orthopaedic Surgery Residency.
- Sports medicine fellowship preferred.
- Must be Board Certified or achieve Board Certification within one year of hire.
