Overview

The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Stanford University seeks a fellowship trained board certified/eligible orthopaedic surgeon specializing in orthopaedic sports medicine with a desire to help build a women’s sports medicine program. Expertise in hip arthroscopy is a plus. The successful candidate will join the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Assistant, or Associate rank on the University Medical Line (UML) or in the Clinician Educator (CE) Line.

Responsibilities

  • Provide surgical and non-surgical care for orthopaedic patients.
  • Teach and mentor residents, fellows, and medical students.
  • Engage in scholarly activity in the candidate’s major areas of interest.
  • Contribute to building a women’s sports medicine program; expertise in hip arthroscopy is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Fellowship trained orthopaedic surgeon; board certified or eligible.
  • Medical doctorate degree.
  • Specialization in orthopaedic sports medicine with interest in women’s sports medicine; hip arthroscopy experience a plus.
  • Eligible for California Medical License.

Academic rank and compensation

Academic rank and line will be determined by qualifications and experience. Base pay ranges include:

  • Assistant Professor or Clinical Assistant Professor: $310,000-350,000
  • Associate Professor or Clinical Associate Professor: $310,000-350,000

The base pay reflects rank and years in rank and does not include all components of the School of Medicine’s faculty compensation program or pay from participation in departmental incentive programs.
