Animal Rescue - Transport Drivers (Richmond, VA)

Operation Paws for Homes is a nonprofit organization devoted to the rescue, rehabilitation and placement of dogs and cats who have overcome great odds and deserve wonderful, caring forever homes. We are in need of Dog Transport/Pupovers! This role will require all volunteers to have at minimum, completed and passed animal handling training, watched the "Bringing home a new dog video" and signed the foster agreement. Complete foster training is not required, but the maximum length of stay for a pupover is 24 to 48 hours only. If you want foster a dog longer, the complete OPH Foster training course will need be taken. These are volunteers who would be able and willing to transport dogs/cats from one of our 3 transport stops (Doswell, VA, Springfield, VA and Pikesville, MD) to their permanent foster, or boarding if a foster is not available yet. As transports are usually Friday evenings, the dog may likely need to have a pupover with you before going to their foster the following day.
