WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:
Plan, coordinate, and facilitate manufacturing process improvements, including Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Kanban and 5S events
Work closely with Operations to develop, coordinate, and implement technical training for employees on lean manufacturing process changes and improvements and other production process related functions
Assess and identify potential manufacturing equipment purchases, including completing justification analyses, specifying, and sourcing
Assist manufacturing department supervisors with equipment maintenance programs, equipment repair, and inspection program
Find opportunities to optimize material cost by minimizing scrap, outsourcing, insourcing, or changing material type
Find opportunities for enhanced efficiency reductions in labor hours in fabrication, welding, paint, structural assembly, and electrical assembly departments
Lead efforts to implement solutions to manufacturing related quality issues that require manufacturing process changes, new methods, or equipment
Design new work flows and processes including shop floor layout, material handling methods, and work instructions
Report progress on projects in process and completes follow-up/audit results of completed projects
Work with other departments during the concept, prototyping and release of new products
Travel to other nVent Trachte manufacturing sites may be required
YOU HAVE:
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related degree is a must
Ideally 2+ years of experience in manufacturing preferred
Experience in a manufacturing environment with one or more of the following systems: SolidWorks, AutoCAD, MS Office, ERP (JD Edwards preferred), PLM (Enovia preferred).
