*** Shortened weekend hours! Mon-Fri 8am-8pm, Sat-Sun 8am-4pm. Block scheduling 3x12's then 2x12's and 2x8's. Must be willing to work every other weekend ***
Reports to
: Practice Operations Manager
Summary
: As part of our team, the Medical Assistants work closely with our providers and patients. More specifically, they interview patients, measure vital signs, document all information in patients charts and assist the Providers in exam rooms. Additionally, they maintain logs, keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies and handle calls as appropriate.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
:
• Escort patients to exam rooms, interview patients, measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and document all information in patients' charts
• Assist providers in exam rooms; give instructions to patients as instructed by the providers
• Perform certain procedures such as blood draw, EKG, etc.
• Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, prepare sterilization as required
• Provide feedback and answers to patient/provider/pharmacy calls
• Maintain all logs and required checks (i.e. refrigerator temperatures, emergency medications, expired medications, oxygen, etc.)
• All other duties as assigned by Office Manager or Practice Administrator
Requirements
Education
:
• High school diploma; some college preferred
• Successful completion of an accredited medical assistant
Skills:
• Ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow
• Ability to perform phlebotomy and administer injections
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Exceptional customer service and phone etiquette
License/Certification: Certified Medical Assistant BLS Certification
