Job Details

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Pediatric ER RN for a 13 week travel assignment in Boston, MA. You will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of patients while enjoying competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and the support of a dedicated clinical team.

Responsibilities

• Explain emergency procedures and treatments to pediatric patients and their families in an age-appropriate manner to foster understanding and alleviate fear
• Administer prescribed and emergent medications and treatments in accordance with approved pediatric nursing techniques and emergency protocols
• Prepare and operate pediatric-specific emergency equipment, assisting physicians during treatments, procedures, and examinations
• Ensure the comfort and safety of pediatric patients in the emergency setting, employing age-appropriate techniques and minimizing distress
• Perform pediatric vital sign assessments, using tools such as Broselow tape for weight-based measurements, and respond promptly to deviations from normal
• Respond promptly to pediatric emergencies, such as respiratory distress, trauma, or cardiac arrest
• Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the medical records
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians and social workers, to provide comprehensive care
• Collaborate with families to develop and implement care plans that address the unique needs of pediatric patients
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing pediatric patient care and outcomes
• Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice
• Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards

Qualifications

• Required: One year of recent experience as a Pediatric ER RN
• Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
• Current BLS (AHA/ARC) Certification
• PALS (AHA/ARC) or ENPC Certification

Preferred Qualifications

• NRP Certification
• Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position

• Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills
• Physical Abilities - remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), pushing, pulling, bending
• Interpersonal Skills - collaborate effectively with a variety of personnel
• Technical/Motor Skills - manipulation and use of department equipment
• Mental Requirements - ability to work under pressure, manage irregular schedules, and maintain attention to detail
• Sensory - visual acuity and effective communication
