We are the largest university-based legal assistance program in the nation, providing free, high-quality, and confidential immigration law services. We believe in empowering immigrants to take control of their immigration cases through a legal assistance model known as pro se. Using this approach, our attorneys and paralegals support thousands of individuals each year on their path to U.S. citizenship.

In addition to individualized services, we've developed a nationally recognized event-based model designed to assist large groups with their immigration applications. This innovative approach has been adopted by organizations nationwide and continues to expand access to legal support for immigrant communities

Position Summary

CUNY Citizenship Now! is seeking a highly organized and mission-driven Program Coordinator to support its City Council Services initiative. This role is essential to ensuring the effective delivery of immigration legal services across multiple sites, including Council Member offices and community partner locations.

Under the supervision of the Managing Attorney, the Program Coordinator will oversee day-to-day operations, including scheduling, performance tracking, and staff transitions. They will facilitate trainings and meetings, support service logistics, and maintain consistent communication with Council Member offices to monitor progress and address challenges. Additional responsibilities include maintaining shared calendars, coordinating site visits, and preparing reports that highlight program outcomes.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in program coordination, a commitment to immigrant advocacy, and the ability to navigate complex organizational systems. This position requires flexibility, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced, multi-agency environment.

Other Duties

Understand and follow the CN! Model, Policies, and Procedures to effectively disseminate knowledge to staff Ensure participants are served efficiently, safely, and consistently, in accordance with program guidelines Serve as the liaison between CN! and Council Member offices Schedule and participate in on-site visits to evaluate project status and staff culture Maintain and manage shared scheduling across the organization Assists with onboarding and transitioning staff Update staff schedules, plans, assigned tasks, and responsibilities Deliver excellent customer service and support staff in enhancing service quality Report on project status, achievements, and needs to project partners Assist with quarterly and annual qualitative reports Organize immigration trainings and workshops for staff, participants, and targeted communities Demonstrate basic knowledge of immigration applications and petitions Other duties as assigned Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required Experience coordinating multi-agency efforts Basic understanding of immigration law preferred Ability to interpret procedures and apply them across diverse organizational settings Strong commitment to protecting the rights of immigrants Excellent written, verbal, and computer skills Skilled in event planning and training facilitation Ability to set priorities, work independently, and meet objectives with minimal supervision Detail-oriented, adaptable, and self-motivated Spanish proficiency preferred but not required Willingness and ability to travel within the state RFCUNY Benefits RFCUNY Employee Benefits and Accruals
