Overview

We have an exciting position open in Mukwonago, WI: Operator. This position is to provide assistance to the Manufacturing/Operational processes, and Quality Systems. The operator manages material flow on the equipment, monitors operation, makes operating adjustments (as required) and verifies equipment operating conditions to assure conformance to specifications. The operator is responsible for area housekeeping and following proper safety procedures plus recommending changes to enhance equipment performance and improve safety. This position must participate and adhere to all applicable plant certifications including but not limited to, ISO 9001:2000 and SQF.

Responsibilities

  • Arrive 5 minutes before start of shift to communicate with the previous shift.
  • Read activity board for scheduled color changes, conversions and set-ups.
  • Create, label and number boxes.
  • Read shop order for product requirements and verify box label matches product.
  • Answer bells, check for stuck parts, and use Process Monitor on press.
  • Clean machines after completing production activities and maintain efficiency.
  • Operate emergency stops on closing machines, grinders, and auxiliary equipment; follow lock out/tag out procedures.
  • Operate and maintain all types of manufacturing equipment, including operating several machines at once to relieve breaks/lunch.
  • Examine and discard defective goods and packaging components; identify gross defects.
  • Monitor machine operations to ensure finished product and components meet quality and quantity requirements.
  • Support and adhere to all system procedures and company policies/procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Communicate any gross defects or issues to the technical team and coordinate with other team members.

Qualifications

Education

  • High School diploma/GED

Skills

  • Able to communicate in English
  • Ability to read, count and write
  • Ability to distinguish colors as evidenced by a maximum score of 80 on the Farnsworth-Munsell Color Test
  • Prompt, reliable attendance is required
  • Effective written and verbal communication
