Overview

The Production Shift Supervisor is responsible for manufacturing operations that prioritize safety, quality, efficiency, and employee engagement. This role expands supervisory coverage for 24/7 operations, including weekend coverage as needed.

Environmental Conditions and Work Schedule

Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance. Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards. Cleanroom: no hair products, jewelry, makeup, nail polish, perfume, exposed piercings, facial hair, etc. allowed. Loud noises from equipment/machinery. Office environment with some PPE (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs, etc.) required. Third Shift (Nights). 3rd Shift Hours: Sunday Night – Friday Morning 11pm – 7am. Overtime/on-call support as needed.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Ensure a safe working environment by modeling safe behaviors, leading audits/inspections, correcting unsafe practices, conducting safety meetings, and ensuring accurate work methods and equipment use.
  • Provide direct supervision to production hourly employees.
  • Handle shift administrative activities such as time reporting, attendance control, vacation planning, and overtime.
  • Review employees’ performance and provide valuable input.
  • Drive continuous improvement in safety, efficiency, quality, and cost.
  • Plan daily work schedules, set priorities, allocate work assignments, and supervise production processes to meet specific requirements.
  • Champion lean manufacturing efforts and projects.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Minimum of one (1) year supervisory and/or people leadership experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree
  • Experience in medical, pharmaceutical, or food manufacturing (cGMP, ISO 13485)
  • Ability to drive and inspire change and lead cross-functional teams
  • Training and/or experience with Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing

Additional Details

  • Location: Meriden, CT
  • Travel: May include up to 5%
  • Relocation assistance is NOT provided.

  • Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check, which includes a drug screening.

Compensation And Benefits

  • Salary range estimated for this position based in Connecticut is $66,000.00–$95,000.00.
  • Eligible for a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
