The Virginia Information Technologies Agency (VITA) is excited to offer a competitive opportunity to serve as the Jr. (Junior) Information Security Officer Analyst in the Centralized ISO Security Services (CISS) Division

The Junior Information Security Officer Analyst assists CISS ISO Analyst in supporting client organizations in developing, documenting, and maintaining key security program elements.

The role involves analyzing security information, ensuring compliance with COVA IT Security Standards, and supporting risk management activities.

The Jr. ISO Security Analyst is responsible for supporting ISO Analyst in execution of project tasks to develop, document and maintain key elements of their security program, to include, but not limited to, Business Impact Analysis, System Security Plans, Risk Assessments, Risk Treatment Plans, corrective actions, and other security related documentation.

The individual will help prepare deliverables provided working with client organizations, administrators, leadership and subject matter experts and provide to Manger CISS for final approval.

The individual will work under the direction of the Manager, CISS or Sr. ISO Analyst coordinating efforts to engage proactively with agencies to assure compliance with the security requirements of the commonwealth IT Security Standards, including, but not limited to, SEC530, SEC502, SEC540 and SEC520. Specific duties may extend past the documentation.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience in Risk Management, Project Management, Vulnerability/Risk Assessments, Business Continuity Planning, Information Technology, or IT Security.

Familiar with use of Microsoft 365 applications to include Excel, Word, Forms, Lists, SharePoint, Planner, PowerApps, and Power BI.

Familiar with IT Risk Management, Information Security, project management or IT Security controls.

Knowledge of Information Security Frameworks such as NIST Risk Management Framework.

Knowledge of Commonwealth policies and procedures including, but not limited to SEC530, SEC520, SEC502, NIST800-53.

Demonstrated experience developing and delivering effective oral and written presentations.

Ability to work in team environment in a client-based environment, and communicate effectively with client leadership, CISS team and CSRM Management.

Additional Considerations

Security+, Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP), or Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) preferred.

Advanced Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Security/Risk Management.

Familiar with RSA Archer or other eGRC platform.
