Electrical Bridge Engineer The Movable Bridge Business Unit is seeking entry level Electrical Engineers with interest in Movable Bridge Design. Locations: Mechanicsburg, Pa and Ft. Lauderdale, FL What You'll Do Design electrical control systems for manual, automatic, or remotely controlled movable bridge operations. Design power distribution systems for roadway lighting, transportation facility, and movable bridge projects. Develop details and wiring diagrams for various electrical components and systems. Perform field inspections and evaluations of movable bridge, roadway lighting, and transportation facility electrical systems and write reports based on findings. Assist with movable bridge electrical and control system start-up procedures. Assist in the preparation of electrical design drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams for movable bridge systems under the guidance of senior engineers. Perform limited electrical analysis, design, and selection of bridge electrical/lighting components. Use general analysis software, manufacturer-specific software, and in house programs under the direct guidance of Senior Electrical Engineers. Develop preliminary system layout and details using CAD software, provide information to CAD Technicians for the development of contract plans directly related to bridge design work. Assists with on-site inspections of the electrical and control systems for bridges, facilities, tunnels, roadway lighting, and other structures and assist in the development of inspection reports with recommendations and related construction estimates.

What We're Looking For

At minimum a completed BS in Electrical Engineering from anABET accredited College or University Ideal candidates will have a valid EIT certification, or in the process of obtaining.

Familiarity with basic electrical three-phase power calculations. Physical capability to climb ladders, stairways, and perform work on walkways and platforms at high elevations on bridge superstructures during field assignments. Good command of the English language with good oral and written communication skills.

Internships may be considered: Ideal candidate for internship opportunities will be working towards aBS in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or Engineering with a concentration in Electrical from anABET accredited College or University

electrical design of movable bridges of all types . Projects include new design of movable structures, structural, mechanical, and

electrical inspection and rehabilitation of existing bridges . Our instrumentation group is housed in this unit and focuses on short term monitoring of bridges and other structures using a wide variety of gauges and instrumentation. Structural, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineers as well as CADD Technicians make up the staff of this unit.
