San Diego Dual Diagnosis Services includes a residential treatment center and a specialized non-public school, for youth ages 12 to 22 who have an intellectual disability and struggle with significant mental health challenges. Our staff offers a variety of intensive intervention services that are individually designed to support participants with intensive mental health, behavioral and psychiatric supports. At the specialized school, students benefit from special education academic and functional classroom learning along with mental health and behavioral services.

What You Will Do
The Mental Health Therapist provides behavioral health intervention and recovery services to assigned participants and their families; conducts assessment, develops treatment plans and performs individual, group, and family therapy, and crisis intervention. Also provides consultation to other treatment team members and referral agency representatives.
Shifts Available Part Time, 20 hours per week, schedule will vary- afternoon and evenings required.

What You Bring to The Table (requirements):
Education:
Mental Health Therapist I: Master's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in social work, psychology, counseling, marriage and family therapy, or a related field; and
Experience:
Mental Health Therapist I: One (1) year of internship experience providing mental health services in a behavioral health, clinic, residential, school-based, or community-based setting for children, youth, or young adults.
Licenses and Certifications: Possession of a valid California Driver's License, a satisfactory driving record, and a properly registered and insured vehicle, to be maintained throughout employment. Mental Health Therapist I: Possession of a valid registration as an Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW), Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) or Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC) issued by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS), to be maintained throughout employment.
