We are looking for a qualified Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner who is passionate about delivering top-notch healthcare within a correctional facility.
As an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner under the supervision of the facility physician, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing services and patient care. The ideal candidate must be capable of performing all of the essential functions listed below:
Deliver comprehensive nursing care including executing physician's orders, administering medications, and conducting patient evaluations.
Order and interpret diagnostic tests to assess patients' clinical issues and healthcare needs.
Document physical findings, develop prognoses, and collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to create patient care plans.
Recommend drugs and treatments within the scope of licensure.
Monitor inmate/resident hospitalizations, facilitating timely releases when appropriate.
Oversee cleanliness and maintenance of equipment and work areas.
Fortify relationships with facility staff, nursing personnel, contract providers, and external agencies.
Employ established corporate and facility policies while exercising independent judgment in fulfilling responsibilities.
Evaluate medical service delivery to prevent unnecessary duplication of services.
Maintain confidentiality of all medical records and ensure thorough documentation of services provided.
Monitor potential catastrophic illnesses closely.
Propose enhancements to operational efficiency and effectiveness of health services.
Audit pharmacy usage and ensure compliance with formulary protocols.
Document inmate/resident behavior as necessary.
Be available for on-call duties when required.
Offer health education and counseling to individuals or groups.
Navigate medical, technical, and legal documentation effectively.
Respond professionally to lawsuits and assist in legal proceedings as needed.
Communicate clearly with administration, staff, inmates/residents, and the public—especially in sensitive situations.
Participate in staff meetings and multidisciplinary committee discussions to monitor healthcare quality.
Work effectively in secure areas and manage emergency situations with competency.
Propose physical safety measures to ensure a protective environment for all individuals.
Facilitate healthcare accreditation processes as appropriate.
Prepare safety reports and act decisively during incidents and emergencies.
Adhere to regulatory and policy standards in all practices.
Administer emergency medical care when required.
Foster positive relationships and manage interpersonal challenges.
Document patient care thoroughly and accurately.
Analyze problems, collect data, and formulate sound conclusions.
Perform basic math operations as needed in patient care contexts.
Comprehend complex medical instructions and documentation with clarity.
Stay alert and respond adeptly in high-pressure situations.
Qualifications:
Graduate from an accredited nursing program with licensure and certification as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner specializing in family practice.
Minimum of one year of professional nursing experience is required.
Possession of a valid driver's license is necessary.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
