Position Summary: The SafeCare Part-time provider will be responsible for delivering the SafeCare program to caregivers in their home. SafeCare offers evidence-based training for at-risk parents of children aged 0-5. The primary goal is to prevent child abuse & neglect through proactive support and education. The SafeCare program covers 3 topic areas: Parent-Infant/Child Interactions, Home Safety, and Child Health. The role involves administration of pre and post assessments (ASQ and NCFAS) to help identify any other needs that the children and families may have which would require additional referrals for services. The SafeCare Part-time provider will be part of a dedicated team of trained SafeCare Providers who deliver compassionate care under the supervision of our skilled Coach/Trainer.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in a human service related field or equivalent experience. At least one year experience providing home visiting services is required; experience working with young children and their families and/or with families involved in child welfare is preferred. Must be committed to and skilled at building relationships with under-resourced, at-risk families. Must be comfortable going into homes that may be cluttered, dirty, dark, and not air-conditioned. Must be open to learning and delivering a highly structured intervention with fidelity, achieving Certification within 6 months of hire. Must have excellent ability to engage parents and be able to be both creative and flexible in service delivery while maintaining fidelity to the model. Must be open to supervision and coaching feedback/evaluation. Ability to work independently and as an interdependent team member. Able to work flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours as needed. Possession of a valid drivers license, reliable transportation and proof of automobile insurance and registration required. Must have strong computer and internet skills. Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills highly preferred. Bilingual/ASL skills are compensated by an additional 6%, above base pay. Multilingual skills are compensated by an additional 8%, above base pay.
Physical Requirements: This position requires agency and community visits, employees in this position must have the ability to:
Travel to and from community locations and agency sites, which could include using walkways, stairs and/or elevators. Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. Ability to communicate effectively.
