Job Description
The Estimator will play a key role in preconstruction efforts, supporting a variety of projects from conceptual budgeting through final proposal. This individual will be responsible for developing complete and accurate scopes, conducting detailed take-offs, leveling bids, and ensuring all coverage gaps are addressed. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has the ability to read and interpret plans with precision.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare accurate and detailed quantity take-offs for flooring, trim, drywall, exterior materials, and other scopes. Review drawings, specifications, and project requirements to develop complete scopes of work. Solicit, review, and level subcontractor and vendor bids, ensuring thorough coverage. Identify scope gaps, exclusions, and potential risks in proposals. Collaborate with the project team on budgets, schedules, and constructability reviews. Utilize estimating software and tools, including Bluebeam and BuildingConnected, to manage bid processes and documentation. Provide clear and organized cost estimates and proposals to support project pursuits. Build and maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients. The Successful Applicant
5-10 years of experience as a construction estimator, preferably with a general contractor. Strong knowledge of commercial construction methods and materials. Proficiency with Bluebeam and BuildingConnected. Excellent ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. Proven track record in bid leveling and identifying scope gaps. Strong communication and organizational skills. Team-oriented mindset with the ability to thrive in a collaborative culture. What's on Offer
