Whether visitors are seeking guidance, accessing resources, or simply finding their way, your presence helps create a welcoming and supportive environment. Weekday shifts Monday - Friday, 10:00 am - 2:00 pm · Northwest Family Service Center

7051 Brooklyn Blvd, Brooklyn Center, MN · North Human Service Center

1001 Plymouth Ave N, Minneapolis, MN 55411 · South Human Service Center

2215 East Lake Street, Minneapolis, MN 55407 Time Commitment: ·Preferred commitment: 6-12 months ·Minimum: One 4-hour shift per week ·Weekday shifts available between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM ·Flexible scheduling options available About the volunteer position type : This is an advertisement for an unpaid, volunteer position. In this volunteer position, key responsibilities: · Kiosk Support : Assist visitors with checking in at self-service kiosks. · Wayfinding & Customer Service : Offer respectful guidance and help people navigate the facility. · Active Listening:

Engage thoughtfully to understand each visitor’s needs before directing them to services. · Resource Navigation:

Share accurate information about services available at the Northwest, North, and South Human Service Centers. · Safety Awareness:

Monitor lobby areas for well-being concerns and respond or escalate appropriately. · Emergency Preparedness:

Follow health, safety, and emergency protocols as trained. Volunteer Requirements ·Enjoy working with diverse populations ·Strong listening and communication skills ·Ability to work collaboratively as part of a helping team ·Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries ·Reliable and committed to scheduled shifts ·Must be at least 18 years old ·Completion of application, interview, orientation, background check (if applicable), and training Bilingual skills in Hmong, Russian, Spanish, or Somali are appreciated but not required. Training provided by On-site Coordinator staff, supervision by designated Hennepin County Office Support staff.
