Must-Have: - High School diploma or equivalent - Ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically within a multi-functional team - Experience and understanding in the use of computers, with the ability to learn software relevant to Sterile Processing - Ability to successfully function in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment - Ability to work nights and/or weekends
Description: The position is responsible for assembling, cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing, and/or storing procedure trays, surgical trays, and equipment. Also assembles, distributes, and/or delivers disposable and durable medical equipment, case carts, and supplies. Operates and monitors sterilization equipment. Disassembles carts and follows Universal Precautions for decontamination. Sterilizes and disinfects durable medical equipment and instruments, packages clean supplies and instruments, and maintains records for all instruments. Transports sterilized items to their designated locations. Assembles sterilized instruments and rechecks all instruments for cleanliness and/or impairment. Properly checks power equipment. Maintains easy instrument tracking including following labeling processes, reporting, and documenting all missing instruments and implants replaced in trays. Communicates the equipment and instrument inventory status with staff. Responds to emergency situations by ensuring all emergency, trauma, and add-on cases are supplied properly and delivered in a timely manner. Utilizes applications and technology to accurately facilitate record-keeping in accordance with regulations. Provides on-the-job training to newly hired associates in the department. Promotes the organization's mission, vision, and values, and abides by service behavior standards. Performs other duties as assigned. May be required to float to other departments based on business needs. May be required to be placed on-call during regularly scheduled shifts.
