JOB PURPOSE AND SUMMARY
Enhancement of classroom learnings, by assisting the maintenance techs by performing routine maintenance, and inspections of the production process, the inspection of the production equipment, the utility support systems and the waste water system. The maintenance intern will also assist and gain general knowledge by working with the maintenance parts room clerk. Additional responsibilities include the organization and maintenance of the parts room and the tool crib, maintaining inventory by conducting cycle counts, researching and verifying inventory discrepancies, and stocking parts through MVP System as necessary.
Support the review, understanding and compliance of all programs, policies and procedures contained in the Food Safety and Quality Management System.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

ITEM TIME JOB FUNCTIONS
1. 40% Performs routine maintenance of the production equipment. Performs tasks of greasing, chain oiling, and lubrication. Troubleshooting mechanical, and electrical equipment problems. Repairs and overhauls equipment. Always seeking continuous self-improvement, the improvement of equipment, and the work environment.
2. 25% Orders parts, lubricants, and supplies pertinent to maintaining equipment. Maintain accurate records. Help keep oil storage area clean and organized at all times.
3. 5% Maintain and organize the maintenance parts area and tool crib.
4. 5% Order requested items and log entries in the MVP Software System on a daily basis.
3. 10% Release or issue parts from inventory system on a daily basis.
4. 10% Stock inbound parts in allocated bins or shelves. Clearly identify all locations with correct parts number and descriptions.
4. 5% Perform other duties as needed or assigned by supervisor

Education Level and Focus:
Must be currently enrolled with an accredited college, and have a focus on electrical and mechanical vocational training.
Training Expectations
This level must meet the following criteria, must maintain a grade average as specified in the Intern Education Assistance Program, maintain a good work ethic, and maintain punctual attendance.

Physical Demands:
Standing for long periods of time, reaching, bending, lift 50+ lbs., climbing stairs, pushing pulling. May be required to work overtime on weekends and/or shift work
Work Environment:
Food plant, high noise levels, frequent interruptions, cold hot and humid conditions, wet floors, forklift and pedestrian traffic, machinery with moving parts. This is a Safety Sensitive Position
Special Equipment Used:
Various hand tools, machining tools, forklift, welding equipment and electrical test equipment.
