Job Title: Trainer

Reports to: Club Manager

Status: Full Time/Non-Supervisor/Non-Exempt

Job Summary

Responsible for running the Planet Fitness group fitness program (PE@PF). This includes assisting new members in achieving their fitness goals by designing simple workout programs and instructing them on proper equipment use.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Conduct and manage the PE@PF program, including creating and following schedules.
2. Consult with members on their fitness goals and instruct on safe equipment use.
3. Develop creative methods to promote PE@PF class sign-ups.
4. Create bi-weekly exercise updates.
5. Meet class requirements based on club size and member traffic.
6. Assist at the front desk with activities such as:
   • Answering phones and assisting callers
   • Checking members in
   • Signing up new members
   • Touring potential members
   • Updating member accounts
7. Respond to member questions and concerns professionally, escalating as needed.
8. Help maintain club cleanliness and appearance.

Minimum Qualifications

• Exceptional customer service skills
• Good listening, empathy, and problem-solving abilities
• Diplomacy in interactions, appropriate behavior and language
• Completed fitness trainer certification

Physical Demands

• Standing and walking at least 75% of the shift
• Talking in person or on the phone at least 75% of the shift
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs less than 30% of the time
