The Position
Ocean County College seeks an enthusiastic, on-call student recruiter for Strengthening Community Colleges Training Grant (SCC5) to promote and recruit students for high-demand healthcare training programs, including patient care technician, medical billing & coding, certified clinical medical assistant, EKG, phlebotomy, along with technology-based programs in Google, and CompTIA with the possibility of additional programs being added in the future. The student recruiter will conduct outreach, build community partnerships, and guide prospective students through the enrollment process, working closely with the SCC5 Healthcare Career Coordinator and reporting directly to the SCC5 Project Manager.
This position is grant-funded. Continued employment is contingent upon grant funding. What You Will Do
1. Develop and implement targeted recruitment strategies to attract students into SCC5-funded training programs. 2. Conduct outreach through high schools, community organizations, workforce development boards, social media, information sessions, and employer partners. 3. Coordinate and attend recruitment events, open houses, and information sessions to promote training opportunities. 4. Collaborate with the Healthcare Career Coordinator to create and distribute recruitment materials (flyers, social media posts, emails, etc.) in alignment with grant branding and compliance requirements. 5. Contribute to regular reports on recruitment numbers, outreach efforts, and enrollment progress to SCC5 Project Manager and Project Coordinator 6. Assist applicants in completing intake forms, eligibility documentation, and required assessments. 7. Related projects and duties as assigned. The Successful Candidate Must Have
1. Associate degree and two years of experience in enrollment, admissions, or marketing, requiring excellent customer service, communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills. 2. Experience or strong interest in allied health/healthcare programs. 3. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills; ability to engage with diverse audiences. 4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and student databases. 5. Able to travel occasionally - at consortium partner sites and partner sites within Ocean County 6. Ability to meet flexible work schedule requirements that include occasional evenings and weekend hours in accordance with departmental needs. Ocean County College offers the following benefits to temporary or on-call as needed employees:
Time Off: OCC follows the NJ Sick Leave Law, providing one (1) hour of sick leave per every thirty (30) hours worked. A maximum of forty (40) hours may be accrued.
Employee Assistance Program: OCC offers all employees to take advantage of our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for mental health support. This is a free and completely confidential service where EAP counselors provide assessment, support, and if needed referrals to additional services.
