Responsibilities

  • The Assistant Fitness Manager (AFM) is responsible for delivering a positive customer experience personally and through Coaches, and for driving Fitness & Supplement revenue.
  • Address member concerns and employee relations issues as needed, and oversee scheduling and time-keeping activities.
  • Communicate and enforce Company and Club policies and procedures regularly.
  • Work towards revenue goals related to Private Training and Supplements.
  • Sell and conduct Private Training and Small Group Training with Members; assist members and encourage involvement in private training.
  • Ensure accurate administration of client programs, supplement purchases, measurement tracking, and workout programs; arrive on time, prepared and attentive for training appointments.
  • Participate in revenue-generating activities including complimentary workouts, supplement booths, body fat tables, seminars, and workshops.
  • Sell training sessions, conduct prospecting, guest tours, and manage sales through the Turn-Over process as needed.
  • Review daily club sales performance and individual employee performance statistics with the Fitness Manager and staff to achieve club sales goals.
  • Administer company policies related to the sales process and maintain compliance with club procedures.

Club Administration

  • Collaborate with the Fitness Manager to ensure coaches are productive and that revenue and service goals are communicated; help the club attain daily, weekly, and monthly financial goals.
  • Conduct member tours, explain services offered by the Fitness Department, and sign members up for training agreements and appointments; mediate member issues in a timely manner.
  • Perform administrative and housekeeping duties as needed; alert Operations staff of repairs and maintenance needs; conduct daily facility walkthroughs.
  • Supervise coach sales activities, review agreements, and manage daily paperwork; ensure compliance with club operations and monitoring of staff performance.

Required Qualifications

  • In-depth knowledge of Personal Training techniques from assessment to program design.
  • Ability to operate and adjust all Fitness equipment; knowledge of company policies, practices, and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a friendly, enthusiastic attitude.
  • Customer service focused; responds professionally to requests from guests, members, and staff.
  • Clear and concise instruction and strong organizational skills; ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Computer proficiency with basic skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Required Experience

  • Minimum of one certification from an organization recognized by UFC Gym; current CPR/AED certification.
  • High school diploma or GED; four-year degree in a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum 6 months of related experience; experience in management/employee relations preferred.
