To learn how to apply for a faculty or staff position using the Career worklet, please review this .The Manager, Fitness Programs develops and manages health and fitness programs for patient referrals and students, faculty, staff, and community members to further the University’s wellness goals and objectives. This includes the integration of medically based exercise programs with the clinical mission of the organization.CORE JOB FUNCTIONS 1. Oversees development and management of programs, including but not limited to fitness testing protocols, progressive exercise programs, and exercise prescriptions for patient referrals.2. Develops, administers, and monitors budgets.3. Establishes short-term and long-term measurable objectives for the department. Ensures program evaluations and reports are completed for short- and long-term goals.4. Determines optimal staffing levels for fitness floor operations and health and fitness programs.5. Oversees patron risk stratification and medical clearance procedures.6. Coordinates the development of educational materials regarding physical activity and general health for members and patients.7. Develops processes and procedures to measure program performance and operational outcomes.8. Supervises contract and payroll compliance with applicable rules and regulations.9. Works with senior management team to develop, implement, and monitor a comprehensive risk management plan.10. Monitors the development and administration of surveys to obtain feedback that can be used to improve department functions.11. Keeps abreast of new developments in the field, takes continuing education classes, and discusses new research, methods and knowledge.12. Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures.
