PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The PACS Administrator is responsible for the daily operations, maintenance, and optimization of the Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) and related enterprise imaging modalities and applications. This role ensures seamless integration across imaging modalities, EHR, and IT systems while supporting clinical staff, radiology staff, and vendors to maintain system integrity, workflow efficiency, and compliance with healthcare regulations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (*ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS) 1. Manage day-to-day operations of PACS and related imaging systems (Radiology, Cardiology, and Enterprise Imaging). * 2. Monitor system performance, perform data reconciliation, and conduct regular audits to ensure data accuracy. ** 3. Oversee upgrades, patches, testing, and ongoing system maintenance. * 4. Administer user accounts, profiles, and role-based access controls with least privilege.* 5. Configure, integrate, and troubleshoot imaging modalities, DICOM/HL7 interfaces, and EHR connections. * 6. Serve as the liaison between imaging, IT, radiologists, clinicians, and vendors. * 7. Provide technical support and issue resolution for users, including after-hours support when required. * 8. Support business continuity planning. * 9. Ensure adherence to HIPAA security and privacy rules, hospital IT policies, and other regulatory requirements. * 10. Lead and support PACS-related projects, including new system implementation and modality integrations. * 11. Collaborate with clinical and IT teams to improve workflows and optimize system functionality. * 12. Manage vendor activities during upgrades, integration, and issue resolution.* 13. Identify and recommend ongoing process and system improvements.* 14. Provide 24-hour on-call support, 7 days per week, in the operation of PACS.* 15. Maintain documentation and testing procedures for downtime processes. * 16. Test downtime processes to ensure business continuity in downtime situations.* 17. Maintain regular, in person, work attendance and punctuality, as scheduled.* 18. Participate as an active care team member in a patient centered medical home. 19. Other tasks as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS: • Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology, Information Technology, or a related healthcare field and 3 years of practical experience OR • Bachelor's Degree in Radiologic Technology, Information Technology, or a related healthcare field and 2 years of practical experience • Networking skills

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES: • Proficiency with DICOM (DIMSE) and DICOMweb (QIDO, WADO, STOW). • Familiarity with HL7, FHIR, and Radiology IT standards (e.g., ACR/NEMA, IHE). • Strong understanding of radiology, IT, and clinical workflows. • Experience with FUJI PACS, Synapse, VNA integration, modality connectivity, and interface troubleshooting. • Strong problem-solving abilities. • Effective communication skills for collaboration across clinical, technical, and vendor teams. • Ability to train and support end users effectively. • Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines independently.
