Job Title and Location

Security Guard, Ar m ed Guard (IPSC) – Amite area, Louisiana.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular and random patrols of multiple premises to deter crime.
• Report security-related incidents, hazards or unusual occurrences.
• Execute control procedures when necessary and operate emergency equipment.
• Document nightly operations and file weekly reports.
• Investigate breaches of property.
• Assist in preventing and deterring crime through vigilant presence and observation.

Requirements

• Excellent customer service and conflict resolution skills; sound communication skills; professional presentation.
• Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
• Willingness and ability to work a flexible roster, 7 days a week.
• Reliable transport and an active cellphone.
• 21 years of age; clean criminal background; ability to pass a drug screen.
• Must be able to stand for long periods and perform routine foot patrols.
• Prior law enforcement, military, and/or 1 year of security experience is a plus; training and uniform provided to the right candidate.
• Must be able to obtain the required security license (Armed or Unarmed).

Physical and Mental Job Requirements

• Must have effective written and verbal communication skills to clearly and quickly communicate in emergencies.
• Ability to read and interpret written information under various circumstances.
• Ability to drive a motor vehicle if required by duties.
• Able to detect and identify sounds relevant to fires, floods, alarm signals, and persons in distress amid background noise.
• Physical ability to walk, run, stand, climb, sit; lift a minimum of 50 lbs. waist high if required.
• Good mental health and the ability to make quick decisions in emergencies.
• Must meet the physical and mental requirements of the state(s) where licensed and obtain the appropriate license (Armed or Unarmed) for the position.
