LEAD SECURITY ASSISTANT with Security Clearance

Overview

Lead Security Assistant with Security Clearance. This position may require occasional travel from the normal duty station and involvement with federal employment requirements.

Responsibilities

• You will enter badging information into a computer database to control sensitive badging files.
• You will use office equipment (e.g., personal computer, fax machines or scanner) to perform a variety of administrative tasks.
• You will brief employees and visitors on controls and restrictions associated with access to Federal installations.
• You will account for badges and their associated accesses for all base personnel and extended visitors through the maintenance of the badge tracking system.
• You will control access to secure areas to ensure vehicles or personnel have the appropriate credentials for entry.

Qualifications

• Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
• Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: (1) Distributing and balancing workloads for subordinates; (2) Communicating and interviewing candidates for positions in the unit; (3) Verifying applicant identification and providing fingerprinting services to ensure accurate fingerprint images are captured on appropriate documentation for security clearances, passport, issuance, and other identification requirements; (4) Receiving visitors and telephone calls to the office, determining the nature of requests, and directing callers to appropriate staff, or personally providing the information desired when routine or procedural matters of the office are involved.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work; volunteer work helps build critical competencies and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment.
