Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team in a family medicine department. You will play a critical role in providing excellent patient care and maintaining a smooth workflow in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

Triage incoming patients by obtaining vital signs, chief complaints, reconciling medication and allergy lists, and assessing smoking status.

Prepare exam rooms for patient visits, restock clinical areas, and sterilize instruments.

Document interventions in the electronic medical record, review charts for completeness, and manage test results and billing.

Gather necessary medical records from other healthcare facilities prior to patient visits.

Complete assigned tasks, including responding to patient messages, managing prescription refills, and coordinating referrals and prior authorizations.

Administer patient satisfaction surveys and contact patients to assess medical status and medication adherence.

Adhere to protocols for infection control, environmental safety, and patient confidentiality.

Complete annual recertifications and maintain current CPR and MA certifications.

Provide coverage for other clinical staff during vacations and illnesses as needed.

Essential Skills

Certification as a Medical Assistant (Certified or Registered).

Experience in triage and taking vital signs.

BLS certification.

Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.

Strong customer service skills.

Work Environment

This position offers a Monday to Friday schedule, 8-hour shift between 8 AM to 5 PM. You will work in a learning facility that encourages growth and skill development within the healthcare field. The family medicine department provides exposure to a variety of illnesses and treatments.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
