Position Title: Warehouse / Inventory Coordinator
Department: Warehouse
Reports to: Branch Manager
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Position Type: Regular full-time
General Summary
This position is responsible for supporting the Warehouse Manager in supervising all shipping and receiving activities of the branch to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of all necessary materials, supplies, and equipment to installation job sites.
Essential Job Functions Examine PO and transfer shipment contents and compare with records (3-way match process, item, pack slip and PO/Transfer) match. Discrepancies documented and reported to claims to replace item(s). Maintain control of inventory by tracking in JDE and/or other software as needed. Ensure all material received has proper location and labeling. Issue or distribute materials, products, and supplies to installers or project managers, based on work order/pick ticket details. Make sure that material received has proper signatures. Corroborate accuracy of all material leaving for installs. Communicate to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, or nonconformance to specifications. Assist other branch staff members such as Project Managers, Service Technicians, etc. as well as Installers, and Vendors, to expedite pickups or drop offs. Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects. Report any damage to branch inventory coordinator for processing. Issue material to the proper assignment (transfer back to branch 100, trash, etc.) Walk warehouse weekly for any 60+days aged material. Report to findings to inventory coordinator and branch manager for resolution. Follow the after-hours process to ensure inventory levels are accurate. Conduct weekly cycle counts. Create and monitor stock items demand, monitor stock items for shortages and excess material. Submit stock demand to inventory coordinator. Working with branch inventory coordinator to maintain proper item locations in JDE, cycle counts and inventory shortages and excess. Loss prevention, control warehouse foot traffic, lockbox for forklift. Conduct daily safety check walk through. Supervise warehouse staff and delegate work effectively and efficiently when Warehouse Manager is not present. Provide assistance or direction to other stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard workers. Ensure warehouse procedures adhere to safety standards. Safely operate and use forklifts, pallet jacks, ladders, and other tools and equipment to OSHA and other relevant safety standards. Read picking tickets, write and communicate effectively, use independent judgement to make decisions. Maintain cleanliness and organization of warehouse area, daily floor sweep and trash removal. Act as key holder responsible for unlocking and locking facility when Warehouse Manager is not present. Other logistics, supervisory, and/or administrative duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective distribution of goods. Inventory control experience in order to guarantee high levels of accuracy between Physical and theoretical inventory. Medium to high level on Excel and other computer skills required. Previous experience on warehouse inventory systems (SAP, JDE, etc.) Detail-oriented, careful, and thorough in completing work tasks. Ability to deal calmly and effectively with high stress situations. Ability to multi-task and work with a sense of urgency. Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent. Prior flooring industry experience preferred. Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred. Ability to effectively communicate both written and orally in both languages. Prior experience in a supervisory role preferred. Prior experience using common software programs. OSHA forklift certified. Certified Logistics Professional or Certified Associate in Materials Handling certification a plus. Other Requirements
This role would require the ability to lift, push, and/or pull loads in excess of 50 lb. This role requires use of hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials. Time spend standing in position is continual or almost continual. Fundamental mathematical comprehension required. Travel required: negligible.
