Indotronix is seeking a Mainframe Developer in Pittsburgh, PA, and multiple client tech hubs with our Direct client
Position: Mainframe Developer
Location: Pittsburgh, PA, Strongsville, OH, Birmingham, AL, Dallas, TX, and Phoenix, AZ
Provide locations/flexible work by preference: 3 days a week, onsite
Ability to work remotely: N/A
Travel: if not in Pittsburgh(PA), 2-3 times a year
Days of the week: Monday- Friday; on call rotation (one week), evening between 9 developers
Working Hours (Flexible): 8-5 PM
Acceptable time zone(s): EST

Roles and Responsibilities: • Designing and Developing Applications: Translating business requirements into technical specifications and creating new applications or modifying existing ones. • Coding and Testing: Writing code in languages like COBOL, JCL, and Easytrieve; and rigorously testing the code for bugs and performance issues. • Collaboration: Working with other developers, project managers, and business analysts to ensure seamless integration of systems. • Maintenance and Support: Maintaining existing applications, working customer support tickets to resolve issues, and ensuring the stability of the system. • Troubleshooting and Optimization: Identifying and resolving application issues, optimizing performance, and improving the overall efficiency of the mainframe environment. • Documentation: Creating and maintaining technical documentation for applications and processes. • Adherence to Standards: Ensuring adherence to coding standards and industry best practices. • Compliance: Ensuring compliance with security and data protection standards
Technical Skills: • Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS • Experience with VSAM, TSO/ISPF, and Endevor • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
Flex Skills: • Knowledge of DevOps tools and practices is a plus • Experience in financial services or insurance industry is preferred • Working knowledge of Fiserv's PEP+ platform. • API development experience, including but not limited to using z/OS Connect
Soft Skills: • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Degrees/Certifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, in a related field, or 6+ years work experience in mainframe development
