City Driver Overview:
Your primary responsibility will be to pick up and deliver freight between Service Centers and customers while enhancing the sales process.
Road Driver Overview:
Transport trailers between Service Centers and designated locations using tractor-trailer combinations.

City Driver Essential Functions:
Drive tractor-trailer combinations and straight trucks.
Perform routine pre-trip and safety checks on equipment.
Connect and disconnect trailers and converter dollies.
Handle freight using various tools, including forklifts and pallet jacks.
Secure freight in trailers with the necessary supplies.
Address damaged freight as needed.
Complete necessary documentation and reports accurately.
Adhere to hazardous material regulations.
Collect freight charges as needed and maintain documentation.
Communicate with dispatch regarding delivery and any issues.
Provide excellent customer service by assessing customer needs.
Encourage additional business opportunities from clients.
May need to chain vehicle tires when required.
May perform duties of a road driver or dock employee as necessary.
Follow all applicable laws/regulations and company procedures.
Carry out other duties as assigned.

Road Driver Essential Functions:
Operate various tractor-trailer combinations.

Maintain accurate logs and complete required reports.
Follow hazardous materials regulations.
Communicate with dispatch regarding any delays or issues.
May need to perform tire chaining when needed.
May perform duties of a city driver or dock employee as necessary.
Load and unload freight as required.
Adhere to all relevant laws/regulations and company policies.
Carry out other assigned tasks as needed.

Qualifications for City & Road Drivers:
Must hold a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with necessary endorsements.
One year of relevant experience within the last three years or completion of the FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
Must have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
Meet all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations as per Federal Motor Carrier requirements.
Drivers of long combination vehicles (like triples and doubles) must be certified in applicable states.
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
Basic communication skills for documentation and interaction.
Physical ability to hook up trailers requiring lifting.
Ability to sit and perform physical tasks over extended periods.
Willingness to follow instructions and engage in required training.
Ability to work independently or collaborate with a team.
Display initiative and motivation in the workplace.
(Hazardous Materials endorsement must be obtained within 120 days of acceptance; driving without it is not permitted.)

Driving in various weather conditions and on different road types.
Exposure to noise, vibrations, and diesel fumes.
Handling hazardous materials according to DOT regulations.
Work hours may vary based on operational needs.
Road Driver Working Conditions:
Long-distance driving day and night in various weather conditions.

Overnight stays may be part of the schedule.
Additional Details for City & Road Drivers:
Pay starting at $35.13 per hour.
Mileage pay ranges from $0.6953 to $0.8049 per mile for linehaul duties, plus additional fixed pay for relevant tasks.
