You will work closely with exceptional talent, building on ofi’s purpose to “Be the Change for Good Food and a Healthy Future” and contributing to critical work for the business. As a Summer 2026 Intern, you will learn and contribute to a global organization, build a robust network, demonstrate leadership skills, and have some fun along the way. As a Procurement Intern, you will support the procurement team in managing both direct and indirect spend categories. ‘Direct procurement’ refers to purchasing goods, packaging materials, and services directly related to the production of a company’s product or service. ‘Indirect procurement’ involves buying goods and services that support the business but do not form part of the end product, such as MRO, Transportation, office supplies, IT services, Travel, Marketing, and facilities management. The internship will be structured to provide exposure to both streams, allowing for a comprehensive understanding of procurement’s impact on business success. Key Responsibilities Assist in sourcing suppliers and evaluating vendor proposals for both direct and indirect categories. Support the negotiation process by gathering benchmarking data and preparing supplier comparison summaries. Participate in the supplier onboarding process, ensuring compliance with company policies and standards. Help maintain accurate procurement documentation, including contracts, purchase orders, and vendor records. Monitor supplier performance and contribute to periodic reviews and evaluations. Analyze spend data to identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements. Work with cross-functional teams (engineering, finance, marketing, IT, and operations) to capture requirements and provide procurement support. Assist in the development and implementation of sourcing strategies for various categories. Contribute to risk management activities by assessing supplier risks and proposing mitigation strategies. Learn and use procurement software for managing workflows, supplier information, and analytics. Support sustainability initiatives by researching eco-friendly suppliers or alternatives. Prepare reports and presentations summarizing findings and recommendations for management. What You’ll Bring Must be currently enrolled at an accredited college or university, working toward a bachelor’s or master’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, or engineering required. The pay for this role is $22-30 /hour and is based on position responsibilities and geographic location. Interns whose permanent addresses are more than 35 miles from the work location are eligible for a stipend to offset relocation and housing costs.
