Job Description & Responsibilities

Persistent Systems is seeking a Software Integration Engineer responsible for supporting customers with their software integration into the Wave Relay mobile ad-hoc networking (MANET) system. As part of our Integration Engineering team, you will support system integration, test planning and execution, network design, RF mapping, report generation, and responses to RFIs and RFPs. You will communicate technical challenges and new requirements to our engineering department and work across teams including Sales, Field Operations, Programs Management, Engineering, and Quality. You will also develop scripts in various programming languages to assist with integration and automation, especially interacting with APIs. You will be a key member of a multidisciplinary team supporting customer success.

Position Responsibilities

• Develop and implement software for the Wave Relay network
• Use C/C++ to develop backend API services
• Use Java for web and Android applications
• Use Python for scripting and network assessment
• Support engineering activities including travel to customer sites
• Travel to test locations, military facilities, and customer sites for testing and deployment
• Integrate systems, sensors, and components with Wave Relay
• Write technical proposals

Job Qualifications & Experience

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent
• 1+ years programming in C/C++
• 1+ years programming in Java
• 1+ years programming in Python
• Experience with embedded software and Linux
• Understanding of IP networking, wireless, mobile IP, RF propagation
• Experience with product development and systems architecture
• Customer interaction experience
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to travel up to 50%
• Ability to obtain US security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Masters or PhD in Computer Science or Engineering
• Experience with shell scripting, distributed systems, network protocols
• Knowledge of MANET, Mesh, Ad-hoc protocols, web architecture
• Proficiency with Wireshark, MATLAB
• Active Secret US Security Clearance
