Role Overview

CHAOS is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Engineer to join our team supporting product engineering. This is a highly collaborative role which will allow you to wear multiple hats and work closely with our product teams. You will have the opportunity to expand your skillset across our product line and work across teams to enable mission outcomes.

A key aspect of this role is leveraging Palantir Foundry as CHAOS\'s internal data operating platform—building, maintaining, and optimizing end-to-end workflows and pipelines that manage sensor, operational, and enterprise data. You will contribute to delivering the CHAOS Operating System in Foundry, a unified data backbone connecting engineering, operations, and manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Design and build Foundry-based pipelines and workflows to ingest, transform, and deliver data for engineering and operational users
• Define major parts of our data and backend architecture, including framework and system choices
• Build and maintain data infrastructure, real-time data processing, data transportation, and backend services
• Collaborate with product, system, software, and hardware engineers to integrate data flows into mission workflows
• Mentor other engineers as the team grows and work with engineering leadership to define longer-term roadmaps
• Work from the office in San Francisco (Market Street) or Los Angeles (Hawthorne) for 3+ days per week

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum of 2+ years of professional, object-oriented software development
• Experience with Python, SQL data warehouses, and no-SQL systems
• Experience building, testing, and supporting major systems in production
• Experience building or maintaining data pipelines or workflows in Palantir Foundry or other enterprise data platforms

Preferred Requirements

• Familiarity with Azure or other cloud platforms
• Development experience in Defence, especially ground or airborne sensors (radars, EO/IR, EW, etc.)
• Modeling & Simulation, including hardware-in-the-loop and software-in-the-loop testbeds for algorithm verification
• Familiarity with Agile lifecycle processes including Scrum, CI, and Test Driven Development
• Experience with 2D and 3D Visualization, ideally in defense use cases
• Experience with additional frameworks such as React
