Children's Mercy orthopedic specialists provide a broad range of trauma, hand, musculoskeletal, sports medicine and general orthopedic services for children of all ages. Together with physical and occupational therapists, advanced practice providers, and other experienced staff members, our pediatric orthopedic surgeons care for children with all types of bone, joint, spine and other conditions. Clinical Services Include: General Orthopedics; Fracture Care; Hand Surgery; Adolescent and Young Adult Hip Preservation Program; Spine Care; Sports Medicine Center. Conditions include a wide range of musculoskeletal issues and injuries as listed in the original description. The nurse manager leads with unit-based patient care services, including personnel and fiscal management and development of programs and services. Participates in department and hospital performance improvement activities. Provides family-centered patient care that is evidence-based and outcome-focused. Responsibilities Personnel management: comprehensive unit management and development of programs and services. Participates in department and organization performance improvement activities. Fiscal management and accountability. Leads education programs, unit meetings and assigned committees. Utilizes the nursing process to develop and implement a comprehensive plan of care for patients and families, aiming for optimal outcomes.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree required; 1-2 years of experience (minimum 12 months in clinical nursing) or Master's Degree preferred; 1-2 years of experience Licensure: RN Kansas or MO as applicable; multistate license required upon hire; RN Compact license acceptable for other states Life Support Certifications required upon hire per policy Specialty certification relevant to unit's patient population required upon hire
