About the Indiana State Museum and Historic Sites:
The Indiana State Museum and Historic Sites (ISMHS) is a statewide museum system with 12 locations, including a central museum based in Indianapolis. Our mission is to serve as a catalyst for information lifelong learning that connects the stories of real people, places, and things. Role Overview:
The Director of Corporate Sponsorship is responsible for cultivating corporate relationships, soliciting donations and executing revenue-generating sponsorships for the Indiana State Museum and Historic Sites (ISMHS).
Salary Statement:
The salary for this position traditionally starts at $87,550.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience.
A Day in the Life:
•Identify and cultivate relationships with corporations throughout the state and nation that are potential donors/sponsors to Indiana State Museum and Historical Sites and execute successful revenue-generating sponsorships.
•Develop sponsorship packages, pitches and catalog outlining benefits and mission-focused narratives.
•Research corporate donations and match appropriate opportunities: donations, sponsorships, grants, etc.
•Solicit corporations to donate toward county sculptures, special exhibits, etc.,
•Supervise gift acknowledgement letters and reports generated from gift entry.
•Manage on-site and off-site sponsor activations to steward corporate sponsors.
•Raise corporate funds to support school field trips.
•Develop brand activation events with programming to generate attendance and sponsor contributions.
•Assist with solicitation of corporations for future capital campaigns and building naming opportunities.
•Monitor, manage and ensure ISMHS fulfills sponsorship packages and ensure all sponsorship benefits are met within the required timeframe per each sponsor agreement.
•Collaborate with the marketing agency and Chief Marketing Officer to continually pursue contemporary approaches to gaining new sponsors. Lead the creation of sponsorship support materials and advertising collateral in cooperation with marketing agency, internal creative team and Chief Marketing Officer.
•Report results and metrics to sponsors and continually cultivate, steward and measure corporate relationships in the institutional database along with VP of Development, Chief Marketing Officer and the President and CEO.
What You'll Need for Success:
Bachelors degree in marketing, public relations, fundraising or related field.
Existing relationships with Indiana corporations and businessses is essential.
A high level of diplomacy, communication and project management skills are a neccessary.
A minimum of 7-10 years of client-focused sales, sponsorship or fundraising experience including a demonstrated record of obtaining and managing corporate sponsorships.
Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:
This role may be utilized in a supervisory capacity based on agency needs.
