Job Title: Electrical Technician

Job Description

As an Electrical Technician, you will play a vital role in building control panels based on schematics, ensuring high standards of quality and precision. You will be responsible for point-to-point wiring of panels and conduct inspection and testing of assembled panels. Maintaining a neat, clean, and efficient work area on a daily basis is crucial to this role.

Responsibilities

Build and wire control panels according to electrical and control schematics for PLC controls, operator consoles, variable speed drives, motor controls, and pneumatic controls.

Inspect and test completed panels to ensure functionality and compliance.

Maintain tools and equipment in excellent working condition.

Collaborate with the shop manager to schedule and prioritize tasks effectively.

Occasionally support installations at customer locations.

Essential Skills

2+ years of experience building panels for automated machinery.

Proficiency in reading electrical and automation schematics.

Familiarity with NEC and UL codes and electrical safe work practices.

Strong mechanical ability.

Ability to meet schedules and deadlines with attention to detail.

Comfort and knowledge in the proper use of hand tools and small power tools.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Completion of electrical training and on-the-job experience in the electrical field.

Experience with Auto-CAD or similar drawing software.

Work Environment

Work the 1st shift from 6 am to 2:30 pm, Monday through Friday, with the possibility of overtime both before/after shift and weekends. This is a Contract to Hire position located at our main facility in Elgin. The panel building shop offers a clean, well-lit environment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
