About The Position
We are seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Rheumatologist for a 60-day locum tenens assignment in Pennsylvania, starting Jan 1, 2026. This opportunity features a Monday through Friday 8am-4:30pm schedule, with shared call responsibilities and both day and night shifts. The position involves a balance of outpatient care, limited hospital consults, and supervision of onsite physician assistants.

- Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm day shifts; 4:30pm-8am night call; weekend call 8am-8am (24 hours); shifts per month: 10-20; call shared with APP, normally every other week, mostly outpatient calls; hospital consults 0-5/month, typically during office hours via phone or EMR
Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide care for new patients in 40-60 minute slots and return patients in 20 minute slots
- Supervise two on-site physician assistants, including answering questions and providing in-basket support
- Respond to after-hours calls (0-5 per month), primarily outpatient-related
- Perform hospital consults as needed, typically via phone or EMR during office hours
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient care
Additional Information
- Must be board certified or board eligible in rheumatology
- Active Pennsylvania medical license required
- BLS certification required
- DEA required
- Experience supervising advanced practice providers preferred
- IMLC candidates will be considered
